Grow as a Dynamic Professional
Any progress made in the practice of injury and violence prevention is directly related to your expertise as a professional working in the field. As the field advances, it is more important than ever that you are able to continually enhance your knowledge and strengthen your skills.
Safe States provides a variety of professional development programs that are designed to enhance members' proficiency in core competencies as described by the National Training Initiative (NTI). These core competencies encompass essential skills that are widely considered necessary to work in injury and violence prevention. Through Safe States, members are provided access to free trainings in a range of areas, such as interpreting data, evaluating prevention activities, effectively communicating messages, and developing policy.
Members have access to professional development programs year-round through live web-based trainings that are archived on the Safe States website, as well as during the Safe States Annual Meeting. For select trainings, Safe States is a designated provider of Category I continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.
